The Transit Employees’ Health and Welfare Plan was created in 1954.     The Plan offers three dental care plans for active employees: The Cigna Dental, CareFirst Dental, CareFirst Dental with Orthodontia, and Delta Dental (Retirees Only).

    Full-time employees, part-time employees, and retirees are automatically provided with basic life insurance. Full-time active employees and part-time Participants in the Medical plan can elect to purchase an additional $10,000 or $50,000 in supplemental life insurance at your own expense.

    If you cannot work due to an illness, non-work-related injury, or pregnancy, you may be eligible for short-term disability benefits. If you cannot work due to a disability that lasts longer than 180 days, you may be eligible for long-term disability coverage.
